Knockdown Structure Fire; INC#0980; 04:27PM; 6626 N Hayvenhurst Av; ; Lake Balboa; 75 Firefighters took just 22 minutes to access, discover, confine and fully extinguish fire in one 2nd floor unit of a 60,764 square-foot, 71 unit, three story, O-shaped apartment building (combination of garden style & central hallways, built in 1980). Though smoke charged those hallways, there proved to be no resident entrapment by fire. LAFD personnel quickly accessed at least 3 units to assure the wellness, and assist the sheltering-in-place of residents who chose or were unable to self-evacuate prior to LAFD arrival. No injuries reported.
