Traumatic injuries can occur at any time and have many causes. Uncontrolled bleeding can cause death well before emergency responders can arrive, but by utilizing simple techniques and available equipment, a bystander’s actions can significantly improve a victim’s chance of survival. The LAFD is actively encouraging the installation of publicly accessible bleeding control kits in strategic locations throughout the city of Los ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ and training as many residents and employees as possible in their use.
